Ministry Calling & Gifts

We have in our church the ministry gifts for the edifying of this body till we all come into the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a mature person. None of our people will be children, tossed to and fro, carried about every wind of doctrine. We speak the truth in love.

One thing for certain, our Pastor says "everyone in the church has a job in the church." You are responsible for making yourself available to do the job God has called you to do. Your gifts will make room. (Proverbs 18:16)

If you are a new believer, we take a special interest in your care and development. We have an informative course called the Newcomers Ministry. This course is being taught every Sunday as needed. We know this will aid you in getting rooted and grounded in the word of God, as well as basic Christian doctrines.

In keeping with the scriptures, this course of instruction and information is designed according to Hebrews 6:1-3; "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit." We encourage not only believers to attend this ministry but us older Saints that feel a need for a refresher in these areas.

• Repentance from dead works
• Doctrine of baptisms
• Resurrection of the dead
• Faith toward God
• Laying on of hands
• Eternal judgment

Please review weekly announcements for course dates.

Hospitality Ministry

Hospitality: Practice of entertaining strangers graciously. Hospitality was a very important trait in Biblical times. In the New testament, the Greek translation of "hospitality" means "love of strangers" (Romans 12:12). In the Old Testament, Abraham was the host to angels. Unaware he invited strangers into his house, washed their feet, prepared fresh meat, had Sarah bake bread and later accompanied them as they left. (Genesis 18:1-15)

Hospitality was specifically commanded by God (Leviticus 19:33-34; Luke 14:13-14; Romans 12:13). It was to be the characteristic of all believers. "Use hospitality one to another without grudging." 1 Peter 4:9

Praise and Worship Ministry

How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! Psalm 147:1 (NIV)

Make joyful noise unto the Lord!

Worship

Worship means to give up or to offer a sacrifice or to bow down. We recognize what is of the highest worth - not ourselves or others, but God. Only the highest beings deserve our highest respect. (Genesis 22:5 - Abram reveals true worship.)

Worship is the act of reverence or fear. (2 Kings 17:28-36)

We must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:20-24)

Spirit in Greek (pneuma) means the rational soul or breath. Spirit in Hebrew (ruach) means to breathe; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being. (Judges 11:29; Genesis 2:7)

Corrupt worship - immoral and perverse; to make morally impure. (Romans 1:18-32)

The angels praise God and the twenty-four elders bow down and worship. (Revelation 4:8-11; Isaiah 6:1-3)

Praise

Praise means to exalt, enlarge or raise up. It is an act of worship or acknowledgement of another. Boast in Hebrew (halal) means self celebrate to shine, sing, be worthy of praise. Boast in Greek means glory, joy and rejoice. Oh come let us sing to the Lord. Psalms is a song accompanied by instrumental music. (Psalm 34:1-2; Psalm 95:1)

We are to praise God for who He is, what He does, what He's doing and what He's about to do. God created us to praise Him. (Psalm 150:2)

Sing His Praise

"Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise." (Psalm 33:3)

"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." (Ephesians 5:19)

"My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations." (Psalm 57:7, 9)

"So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows." (Psalm 61:8)

"I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being." (Psalm 104:33)

Computer Ministry

Father, we thank You that You have delivered us out of the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of Your dear Son. Father everything we are doing is based on and according to Your word; and where Your word is, there is light and also understanding. We are joint heirs with Jesus and as Your son/daughter, we accept that the communication of our faith is effectual by the acknowledgment of every good work which is in us in Christ Jesus.

Father, we commit our works to You, entrust then wholly to You. Since you are effectually at works in us, You cause us thoughts to become agreeable with Your will, so that we are able to share knowledge on computers to not only the children of Victory Covenant Ministry but also to anyone who attends that training within the Sumter area in South Carolina.

Father, we need technological knowledge so we can use it as a means to better perform Your work and also conform ourselves as to what You have called us to do.

Father, You are the only one who can give us knowledge and understanding and we are open to use them to enrich more people of Your kingdom.

Father, thank you for the ministering spirits that You have assigned to go forth to open the door of blessings and opportunity for us.

We are a people of love, as love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We thank You that the word of God is living big in all of us as we confess without any reserve that Jesus is Lord!

Father, we thank You for the success of the Computer Training Ministry!

Youth Ministry

We believe "Youth Ministry" is bringing a child into adulthood with strong character and the ability to make wise, biblical choices. Youth Ministry is important because children determine the future of the body of Christ.

Because we realize this, we have chosen Proverbs 22:6 as our foundational scripture; "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Children have an enormous capacity for learning and we truly enjoy watching them grow, physically and spiritually. We realize that Youth Ministry does not begin with adolescence but from the very beginning of life.

Through the joint testimony that God has given us he has enabled us to truly understand today's youth. While our personal ministry does not cover all the areas of Youth Ministry, God has anointed us and equipped us with other Saints and personal experiences to pastor this ministry as needed. God continually supplies this body with individuals who are anointed in all areas of our ministry. Our desire is to help parents teach children from a young age how to become strong and effective men and women of God.

Youth In Action

The Praise Dancers: The praise dance is a special service and involves children of all ages. They are doing a great job and are a blessing to watch. God has anointed Deaconess Pillows to teach through the ministry of dance.

Children's Choir: The children's choir is divided into two groups, currently lead by Evangelist Rouse. They are Generation Jesus and The Millennium Soldiers. Generation Jesus involves the children ages two to ten. t is amazing to see how God can move through ones so young. The older children, eleven and above desire music choices a little more contemporary, hence, The Millennium Soldiers. These anointed young men and women of God have great talent.

Children's Activity Night: Children's activity night is an alternative to adult bible study for smaller children that may not be able to understand all that is being taught in adult bible study. They are taught through videos, songs, games, and other activities that encourage application and memorization of the word of God.

Young Adult Ministry: While the young adults are encouraged to participate in adult bible study, the young adult ministry is also available to them. This ministry has classes available to teenagers from age twelve to seventeen. These classes as with children activity night, strive to help young adults learn more about God's purpose in everyday life.

Super Church: Super church is another area where children can be ministered to on their level while adults are receiving the Bread of Life during Sunday morning worship. The ages range from four to ten. A nursery is provided for children under age four.

Youth Social Day: The fourth Saturday is designated for youth activities and is sponsored by the Brotherhood Fellowship. Activities are planned and scheduled to meet the needs and desires of the youth that participate. t instills a Christian atmosphere reinforcing good religious based principles.

In all that we do, we continually seek God's guidance and His blessings. We also would like to keep an open line of communication between parents of all the children in our ministry and ourselves. God has shown us that no youth ministry can be truly effective without the sincere prayers and cooperation from the parents. We encourage the youth to bring their bibles to all events. We also encourage you to instruct them to study on their own time. Together, we can all stand on Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Music/ Tape Ministry

Our purpose with this ministry is to benefit people in the knowledge of God. Our hope and prayer is that each person who listens to these tapes will examine the scriptures for themselves to learn the word of God. The bible says "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." (Proverbs 4:7) "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Without a first hand knowledge of God's holy scriptures, when trouble comes, you will not have the faith to stand or the knowledge of how to call upon the Lord for help. The bible says "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." (Hosea 4:6)

There is a small donation of $3.00 to cover the cost of producing these tapes. It is our belief that hearing the Word of God over and over will help develop a bible based knowledge. We encourage you to pass them along to other people to help spread the Word of God. We hope our tapes help you in knowing the one true God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

For more information either contact Deacon Williams during Sunday services or send an email to Evangelist Rouse.

Deacon Ministry

The Deacon Ministry represents Christ and His Church, particularly as a servant to those in need, and to assist bishops in the proclamation of the Gospel and the administration of the sacraments.

The word deacon derives from the Greek word for servant; hence, the deacons are a serving office in the church. In order to free the apostles for more important duties of prayer and ministry of the word, seven men were appointed to care for the church. These are thought to have been deacons (Acts 6:1-8). While there is no job description for a servant, the nature of a deacon's qualifications give insight into these duties (Act 6:1-8; 1 Timothy 3:8-13). The first deacons performed routine labors in the church and were responsible for promoting harmony among various groups within the assembly. Deacons may also have served in an advisory capacity and they engaged in spiritual ministries, including preaching and church planning.

Qualifications of deacons:

"Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 3:8-13)

Usher Ministry

The Usher Ministry is a ministry of service with love. The purpose of this ministry is to be the "door keeper" for the house of God. This consists of being an ambassador for the Church, greeting the body, assisting the congregation, maintaining order, helping with emergencies and receiving offerings. Therefore, if you are looking for a good place to serve the Lord, looking to get to know some true servants of God, or looking for a way to get to know the body of Victory Covenant Ministry; let us encourage you to get involved in the Usher Ministry.

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Psalm 84:10)
